Rickey Wallace Death, Obituary: Community Mourns Tragic Death

Residents across Madison County are mourning Rickey Wallace, a 37-year-old North Zulch man killed in a late-night crash on February 14.

State troopers reported that the incident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 39 near Waller Road. Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety said Wallace was driving a Cadillac Escalade and was allegedly involved in street racing with a Dodge Neon when he lost control. The SUV left the roadway, overturned, and ignited.

Emergency responders pronounced Wallace dead at the scene. A passenger managed to escape the burning vehicle and was taken to a Bryan hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the second vehicle were unharmed.

While authorities continue to examine the circumstances, loved ones are reflecting on Wallace’s life rather than the tragedy. At 37, he was known for his strong presence, sense of humor, and devotion to family and friends. Service arrangements will be shared by the family once finalized.
