Anna M. Moore Stabbed to Death Tonawanda Death and Obituary

Grief has settled heavily over the Town of Tonawanda following the sudden loss of Anna M. Moore, 57, whose life was tragically cut short on Monday afternoon. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on February 16, officers with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to 1152 Parkhurst Boulevard. There, they discovered Moore suffering from fatal stab wounds. Despite swift intervention, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moore’s passing has left a void that words struggle to capture. To family and friends, she was far more than a headline or a statistic. She was a steady presence — a woman who navigated life’s challenges with strength and who extended care in ways both visible and quiet. Over nearly six decades, she built connections that enriched the lives of those around her.

Her home served as a place of gathering and belonging. Within its walls were years of shared milestones, conversations, and the subtle rituals of daily life that define a household. Now, those memories carry both sorrow and solace.

Police confirmed that 19-year-old Miguel A. Castro Jr., a relative, was taken into custody and charged with Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Following arraignment in Town of Tonawanda Court, he was remanded without bail to the Erie County Holding Center and is due back in court February 19.

While the judicial process unfolds, it cannot ease the ache left behind. Moore’s life will be honored through the memories she created and the enduring imprint of her kindness.
