Maliyah Russell and Christian Jackson Death, Obituary, Sandersville, Georgia: Family Mourns Sad Death

Two young children were tragically killed in a mobile home fire in Sandersville, Georgia early Saturday morning, leaving a community in mourning. Four-year-old Maliyah Russell and 7-year-old Christian Jackson lost their lives in the blaze, authorities said.

Emergency responders arrived at a home on Oaks Meadows Circle around 4:30 a.m., according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Despite the efforts of deputies and firefighters, the siblings were pronounced deceased at the scene. The Georgia Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

Family, friends, and neighbors described Maliyah and Christian as spirited, loving children whose laughter and curiosity brightened the lives around them. Community members have come together to offer support and comfort to the grieving parents. Arrangements for services will be shared by the family in the coming days.
